Human Resources Coordinator / Recruiter

Job Description

We are searching for individuals who possess the following key responsibilities and skills to work for Villeneuve Construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the human resources department;
  • Coordinate internal and external recruitment activities;
  • Develop and implement labour relations policies and procedures;
  • Work cooperatively with and act as an advisor for both employees and supervisors in HR matters;
  • Cooperatively coordinate and conduct meetings, training/info sessions & HR events;
  • Ensure compliance with legislation such as the Human Rights, Employment Standards Act and Accessibilities for Ontario with Disability Act, etc.;
  • Process, develop, verify, and update documentation related to HR activities such as legal employee documents, recruitment, employment contracts, performance management, disciplinary matters and statistical data;
  • Advise employees on relevant policies and procedures, or direct employee enquiries to the appropriate person;
  • Keep up to date/access government grants, hiring Incentives, Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) and other supports available/of benefit to our applicants, workers, and programs;
  • May manage and follow up on the opening of Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) files;
  • Assist in administering employee orientation and developmental training;
  • Managing social media platforms and social events;
Qualifications/Skills:
  • diploma in Human Resources or related discipline would be an asset;
  • experience in a human resources role would be an asset;
  • must be bilingual in French and English;
  • extensive knowledge of Ontario legislation, Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and its regulations, Employment Standards Act, etc.;
  • practical experience with risk identification, assessment, and management;
  • advanced MS Suite skills, MS Office;
  • strong communication, influential with strong negotiation skills;
  • excellent verbal, written and listening skills;
  • strong team player;
  • willing to travel, must possess a valid driver’s license
