Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Truck and Coach Technician (Certified or Apprentice)

Job Description

We are searching for individuals who possess the following key responsibilities and skills to work for Villeneuve Construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • conduct thorough inspections and repairs on trucks and trailers;
  • diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel-powered units, heavy equipment, and related systems;
  • perform mechanical repairs on equipment, both in the shop and through field service calls;
  • install, repair, and maintain equipment attachments;
  • install and align engines and machinery;
  • troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems;
  • maintain and repair cooling, lubrication, and drivetrain systems;
  • perform incidental welding operations as needed;
  • test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance;
  • conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime;
  • provide guidance and support to apprentices;
  • maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation
Skills/Requirements
  • proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics;
  • experience with routine maintenance operations;
  • computer literacy for documentation and diagnostics;
  • strong attention to detail;
  • ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions;
  • effective communication and teamwork skills;
  • willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed;
  • must possess a valid driver’s license;
  • a DZ license is considered a valuable asset
